Stock Watch : HuaYang

HuaYang : Sideway trading, buy at support and to clear at resistance. OR wait for breakout of the resistance level once uptrend continues.

Learning corner : To check on the health of a company(listed).

Assuming that we know nothing much about a stock traded in KLSE and wanted if it is worth a look(to acquire as investor).

Begin with check its Website :

Know about its businesses, its partners and peers. Also, check on it fundamentals(click investors relation, if any) ... information on its financial situation is important for us to know how the company is doing(I do assume no frauds in its balance sheets and the management is trustworthy).

Learn about the accounting and financial terms used. Normally, we will look into its cash-flow, dividents policy, earnings(EPS), debts and such. Dont ask me, ask

Search more about news related to the company, may it be good and/or bad ones. With internet, we could make informed decisions.

Say, we like property as a sector in play, and once we are satisfied with the fundamentals of the company, then we place it in our stock-list(or favourites) to track her. I will suggest that we put of favourites in categories. For example, "property" stocks ... include some others of its peers.

Then we shall check on its charts!! Yes, FA first ... then TA. Technical analysis could not be applied to many charts.

DOW up again and KLCI could stay at its new high level.

Dear readers, please click on the advertisement above. Thanks.

9.55 am : KLCI in red.

KNM : At 1.90 now.

KNM active, up in early trade

Written by Surin Murugiah of
Thursday, 30 June 2011 09:10

KUALA LUMPUR: KNM GROUP BHD shares were actively traded on Thursday, June 30 after the company said it expects a 20% success rate from the RM17 billion worth of contracts it had tendered for as at end-May.

At 9.10am, KNM rose six sen to RM1.90 with 1.72 million shares traded.

Its group managing director Lee Swee Eng said yesterday he was also positive on the outlook in the second half as the contracts secured last year were now being realised.

"For our tender book, the success rate before 2008 was in the range of 25% to 30%. But since the last two years due to the competitive market, we have seen our success rate at 20%. So assuming that you can get 20% of RM17 billion, maybe we have a prospect of RM3.4 billion of new orders," he said.

MAS : Continue to be in red. At 1.55 now(sold 1.62, touched 1.64). Watch.

GPacket : I was at a chat-box analysing GPacket with few chatters last night. Technically, GPacket will be going lower after huge surge recently. Fundamentally, it is still losing money. Dont know if the Koreans or Chinese will help much.

MPHB-cd : Recovering well, following mommy. MPHB staying above RM3, RSI 53. Wait to clear around 3.15.

7.10 pm : I dont know WHY I could not sign-in my blog using my notebook.

With KLCI at 1580 level, overbought. Time to sell, not buying.

Stock Watch : KNM

FBM KLCI rises to historic high

Written by Surin Murugiah of
Wednesday, 29 June 2011 17:41

KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI surged to close at a fresh historic high on Wednesday, June 29, lifted by gains including at index-linked plantation stocks and select blue chips on some late window-dressing activities as the second quarter draws to an end.

The 30-stock FBM KLCI was up 4.99 points to 1,575.01, surpassing its previous record high close of 1,574.49 on Jan 17 this year. Gainers led losers by 434 to 333, while 319 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 1.04 billion shares valued at RM1.79 billion.

KNM : Closed at 1.84. Indicators showing positive signs and bullish. BUY at 1.81-1.83. Cut if goes below 1.78. RSI at 33(low). High beta(2.70) for trading as fundamentally NOT a good stock. More for speculative play and shorter terms.

Call-warrants : None of her babies worth punting. Too high of premium, so did not satisfy my criteria but IF KNM do reverse from here, these CWs will gain substantially.

KNM Group to bid for RM17b jobs
Published: 2011/06/29

KNM Group Bhd is tendering for projects worth RM17 billion, said its executive chairman and chief executive officer, Lee Swee Eng.

He said the secured projects amounted to RM5.5 billion, mostly from overseas. "We are expecting this year to be better. As for profit outlook, we hope to see better results with more activities in the industry and with oil prices at around US$90 per barrel," he said.

Lee said this at a media briefing after the company's annual general meeting here today. He said a substantial amount of investment would be required this year for the company's joint ventures in Sabah and South Africa.

"The total capital expenditure (capex) for the business undertakings in Sabah and South Africa for this year will amount to approximately RM50 million to RM60 million, which we will share with our partners," he said.

For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2010, KNM's pre-tax profit fell to RM46.51 million from RM138.114 million previously. -- Bernama

DOW up 145 points but ABAT closed at 0.93.

As KLCI reaching for new heights, going into overbought region, it is time to think of reducing our risk-exposure again. I will be glad if I could clear off Masteel and UEM for profits, and be at the sideline. Many will be shooting higher, reaching resistance .... time to trim.

Advanced Battery Technologies Inc (ABAT.O)

ABAT : Dived from USD4 level to current USD1.

Advanced Battery Technologies: An Egregious Chinese RTO

taken from : click HERE.

I am short Advanced Battery Technologies (ABAT) for the following reasons:

1.The Chairman appears to have transferred ownership of ABAT’s key subsidiary to himself without explanation or compensation;
2.ABAT leads investors to think that it makes cutting-edge electric cars, when in fact it produces cheap scooters and bicycles;
3.ABAT claims unrealistic margins in what it admits is a commodity space;
4.ABAT claims to have increased revenue from $4.2 million to $97.1 million from 2005 to 2010 while DECREASING its employee count;
5.ABAT claims distribution relationships which appear to be fake;
6.ABAT is a serial issuer of equity at low prices;
7.ABAT spent $20 million to acquire a company linked to the Chairman without disclosing the relationship;
8.ABAT spent $22 million or 7x sales to acquire a failing and possibly related company;
9.ABAT issued 11 million shares to the Chairman and other individuals to repay a “loan” which appears to be entirely fabricated;
10.Despite a parade of auditors and multiple restatements, ABAT still has material weaknesses;
11.ABAT’s RTO promoter, John Leo, is behind a number of suspicious Chinese reverse mergers, most notably CYXI;
12.No fundamental institutions are significant shareholders.

In short, I think that the financial statements and management of ABAT cannot be trusted and therefore the stock is worth zero!

Going below USD1 today, touched 0.96. I am still watching her. Interestingly, its very low PE attracted my attention. So, when a low PE stock trading lower(extremely oversold), what should we look for? Is it a good buy? Why? Why not?

Note : Green-stocks are not in play and many needs the supports from gov's funds. Once that dries up, they will face a slow 'death'. So, the risk is high.

China Biotics' Fraud Casting Doubt on All Chinese RTOs : read more here

The above article is interesting as to why there is high risk attached to China's stocks. Perhaps there are only few bad apples but they are giving investors' world a bad name on China's stocks. That reminded me of some low P/E China's stocks traded in KLSE.

Stock Watch

UOADev : Back to 2.23-2.25 level. Now, there are MANY stocks could not be analysed by using TA(if insisted, then one may called it tak-akal). One of those are newly listed IPO-stocks. Note that there are insufficient data to plot MACD or even the RSI(14). With new lows at the moment, we could not know the floor. So, as traders, we should not be buying into this one. But, in the view of investors(with longer time frame), 2.20 is a good discount from its IPO 2.60 level and it is fundamentally good stock to hold. So, buy and hold applied here. Period.

MAS : The above is a weekly chart. Reversal seen when the first green histogram shown. Buying could be at 1.45. Notice the huge selling volumes and it touched 1.34 on 30th May. The next day, the huge buying volumes were back. MACD bullish crossover soon and needs to break current resistance level before testing 1.80 level. At the moment, it is playing on few positive 'news' such as retracements of crude oil price plus recent rumour of privitisation. Sell on news, sell when RSI is high ... sell when it is nearing resistance. Sell when you need the funds.

So, I sold her at 1.62 today, RSI at 63(was at 28 when I grabbed her - in fact, RSI was below 10 when it dived on 30th May!!), resistance at 1.64(touched that today) and good news was out. Now, if we need to grab back, then technically we could wait for it to breach 1.64 resistance and buy during pullback. That is technically speaking.

Fundamentally? Hmm ... MAS just reported losing money, remember? I stalked her for a month plus now(read last month posts la). But, MAS will not collapse la. Similar to Proton. These are GLCs ... they will be bailed out, or some ministers will suggest Perodua or AirAsia for these parasites. Hmm ...

Masteel : Testing 1.28 resistance. Positive indicators. If not trading, buy and hold .... forever? This stock will still play on news and with its high beta(1.67), it is good to be used to trade. Lion's news do help to fuel the steel-related sectors. Good market sentiments could push it beyond 1.33 level. RSI at 55 level, still reasonable. Watch to sell.

Top 5 Tips to Build Wealth and Success

Warren Buffett is worth $45 billion. That wealth isn't only a factor of savvy investing and good business — the "Oracle of Omaha" is also known as a penny pincher. Buffett still lives in the same Omaha, Neb., home he bought in 1958 for $31,500.

Follow his frugal formula, and you too may wind up with a lot more money than you ever dreamed.

This week Financially Fit covers five tips to build wealth and success.

1. Live Below Your Means.

Being wealthy isn't just a product of your salary or investment prowess; it's learning how to save.

"We can make a lot of money, you can make a little bit of money, but the second you spend all the money is when people get into trouble. Saving is the key to preserving your wealth," says Ed Butowsky, managing partner of Chapwood Capital Investment Management, a firm that manages money for wealthy individuals.

As many Americans realized during the booming real estate market, just because you think you can afford something doesn't mean you should buy it. Keeping an eye on your bottom line will pay dividends over the long term.

TEH : Dear readers, please help me to click on the advertisements. Thanks.

2. Bounce Back From Defeat

With nearly 15 million workers unemployed right now in the U.S., it's easy to get discouraged. Don't! Most successful and wealthy people have overcome obstacles and failure along the way. Steve Jobs was ousted from Apple when he was 30. Today, he's a billionaire and a legend. Plus, after getting fired, he created another billion-dollar media company, Pixar.

"Bouncing back from defeat is something all great achievers have. They have this undying belief good things will happen and will continue to happen," says Butowsky.

Take Michael Jordan. "His airness" was cut from his high school basketball team. Motivated by the rejection, Jordan became a star the next season. The rest is history.

3. Self-Promote

Regardless of the profession, the rich and successful tend to have a strong sense of self-worth — key to skillfully navigating an upward career path. Mark Hurd, who was ousted as CEO of Hewlett-Packard in August, couldn't be kept down for long. Using his business skills and connections, in September, Hurd was named president of Oracle. (Hurd and Oracle founder Larry Ellison are known to be close friends.)

4. Have Street Smarts

Bernie Madoff lived the high life for decades, scamming unsuspecting clients, with a money-making formula that proved too good to be true. Only afterward did we learn that with a little due diligence, most clients could have easily uncovered the fraud.

But it's not only the swindlers and the con men you have to watch out for. Many times, friends and family take advantage of the rich. Whether it's a handout or an investment idea, Butowsky advises his high net worth clients that in most cases, it's wisest to just say "no." The best way to do that: have someone else do it for you.

"You need to really set up a wall between you and your family," he advises. "If you don't want to give them (family or friends) money ... saying no is probably a good idea."

5. Buy Cheap

The rich can afford to splurge, but that doesn't mean they do.

John Paulson, a billionaire hedge fund manager, bought his Hamptons "dream house at a bargain basement price," according to Greg Zuckerman, author of the Paulson-based book, "The Greatest Trade Ever." The story has it that Paulson eyed the home while it was in foreclosure. Finally, on a rain-soaked day, he purchased the home on the Southampton town hall steps. He was the only bidder.

On New York City's Upper East Side, Michael's— The Consignment Shop for Women— has been a bargain-hunting destination for more than 60 years. "We have a good percentage of women who can afford to shop on Madison Avenue but really like the idea of saving that money," says proprietor Tammy Gates.

From Chanel to Gucci and Louis Vuitton, the store specializes in high-end designer merchandise for a reasonable price. Speaking of her clientele, Gates says, "they're wealthy for a reason. They recognize that bargains keep people wealthy. Paying top dollar when you don't have to doesn't make sense."

DOW up 100 points.

Anon : should have known better, followed this expert to buy uoadev & masteel last week, today these 2 stocks tanked down, this really sucks ....

Note : I will want to 'reply' this comment as I hv been placing him under 'spam'. This 'person' has tried very hard using all those sexual-related name-calling which I ignored him. At least this 'comment' sound more decent for me to post. Haha.

First of all, I have mentioned MANY of times not to follow what is written here and NOT to follow my blog. Haha. You cant be stupid, right? Next, since when I said I am 'expert'? Hmm ... of coz I know what you are at but I dont know why and would not bother to know why. Next, UOA back to my cost price and as investors, we should be glad if it tanks 10%!! We could buy more of her at cheaper price!! What is the time frame? Forever ... only one week, up and down also you mention.

Unless a reader is totally new to market or some short-term punters(short-term punters playing with those penny stocks la, UOA? Haha). Masteel is above my 1.19 average, ok? yeah ... suck it, boy. Of coz I do know you do not buy any of the two stocks. I could only shake my heads(both) why you are do such. May I ask ... why you didnt mention MAS that I bought last week too? Or Equine which I grabbed at 0.50, sold recently at 0.57? And you really think I am so smart to buy Masteel meh? Haha. Should I be jumping for joy for being lucky and frown if the trade goes against us? Hmm ... nothing of such la. Life goes on ...

MSM : Up almost 30% now. It is sweet, babe.

MAS : Going for 1.60 now. Sell at 1.62.

YTLLand : Above 1.60 now. Reversing due to an article yesterday. Queueing at 1.60.

9.50 am : MAS cleared at 1.62.

UEM : At 2.88 today. Good. Clearing at 2.93-2.95 level.

I can say that I am looking at BStead and YTLLand at the moment. That is NOT a stock-pick, ok? If you buy BStead at RM6 now and it tanks to RM5, the risk is yours. Hehe.

BJToto : AT 4.35 now, thinking of grabbing her back but waiting to clear MPHB at 2.98 level or so. So, still wait.

6.10 pm : KLCI bullish, up 7.5 points.

MSM : Big welcome to KLSE ... up 40% from its IPO price. Anyone get lucky?

Masteel : Closed at 1.27, first resistance at 1.28, waiting to clear some at 1.30+ level. For the anon, you sure you bought Masteel last week?

UEMLand : Touched 2.91 again ... see if it could break the level for the 3rd time.

MPHB : At 2.96 now ... time to clear too.

p/s : All the trades are fictional and for reading purposes!!

ESPRIT(code :

Monthly chart : Peaked at HKD130 level, at HKD23 today.

Learning Corner : P/E value

Recent Daily-chart : Downtrending and oversold. RSI at 22, PE at 6.80. So, low RSI and low PE is a strong-buy?

Esprit : The last time I wrote about her was more than 2 years back(I think). It was at HKD50 level then. Could it go to support HKD15??!! Is it a good buy??

KLCI down 3 points, KL raining this morning.

This is still my e-space, my own blog and I am not oblige to write whatever someone may want me to write about. I will only write, for MY own viewing, whatever I want and whenever I wanted to. This is not a stock-pick blog. It is free, it is open ... and feel free to move away if you do not like what you are reading here. So, no offence ... this is my space.

I enjoyed it more about 3 years ago when I do not have 'audience'. I was an un-known and with only 30 views per day. I am 'happier' then as I could write whatever "s*it" I wanted and as I was learning, I am allowed to be wrong!! In fact, I even got some terminologies very wrong!! I have the freedom of writing ... I could write about anything I read about, related or not to KLSE. I could write about my opinions on green-energ, on commodities and what I read about ... say, China. Anything!!

Recently, I have 'paused' from blogging and 'paused' from reading news related to biz/markets. Yes, I have effectively reduced number of readers!! Unlike many, I prefer to have fewer readers ... those who indirectly motivated me to write ... to share about knowledge, opinions, comments and such ... and so that we could learn from each other.

Yes, I am just a blogger ... I want to write about the rain in KL today, I want to write about "Bersih",I want to write about Bagan Lalang I went on Sat, I want to write about Lee Chong Wei's victory yesterday ... I want to write about KL Marathon, I want to write about 'parenting' workshop I attended yesterday at Hilton(by MeadJohnson), I want to write about the first time my aunties baby-sitting my two kids, I want to write about the coming Liverpool's game in KL, I want to write about .... how sissy I am(LOL), I want to write about my frequenting to hospitals, I want to write about my new tuition class with a boy, I want to write about my 'PMS"(LOL), I want to write about ... ANYTHING happening but I do not have the time, I do not have the inspirations, I do not have the freedom, I do not have the ... space!!

It is frustrating to know that I am no longer writing what I want to write about. I want to create another blog, to write whatever 's*it" in my head but ... I cant. The struggle continues ... letting it be...

As I no longer reading biz-news much and also do not analyse much of charts, I will be 'lost' to write about stocks. I have cleared most of it and buying in stages some stocks I want to collect. The market is correcting ... I am sidelined.

Works continue and I shall focus more with jobs in hands.

KLCI target at 1,660.

Maybank Investment Bank Bhd cut its year-end target for the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index to 1,660 from 1,710.

Global equities are expected to “remain volatile” in the second half of the year, analyst Wong Chew Hann wrote in a report today.

This is due to concerns over the US economic recovery, sovereign debt crisis in the euro-zone, monetary tightening measures in China, and unrest in the Middle East and North Africa, Wong said. -- Bloomberg

A very popular blog(in Malay) regarding politics - I am not in BN's side but I find he is hilarious and good in his writing. The above advertisement is a classic. Haha. If you dont understand Malay, get a good open-minded friend to translate that for you. Haha.

Good fundamental stocks

Novices will always be wondering what do they meant by "good" stocks. How do one categorise a stock(a company) to be a good one or otherwise?

Begin with reading some good books(I started with Adam Khoo's "Secret of Millionaire Investors") and some websites.

Before we identify those good ones(In KLSE there are more than 1000 stocks traded in main and ACE markets), we filter and screen off those extremely BAD stocks!! Here, we are excluding the warrants and other instruments traded.

I will briefly give some simple guidelines here.

1. All those with "PN" labels. PN = Practice Note, a status given by Bursa. If you need to know more, please visit BURSA's website. Just never touch these counters at all cost.

2. Very speculative stocks with temporary spike in volumes. Most of them are 'bad' apples being used by syndicates(playing on news) for short term trading.

3. Get "DYNAQUEST", a green book for stock markets. Check their earnings. Do not touch those with 5 stars and below(general rule for those total novices).

to be continued.

Saturday, June 25, 2011

Stock Watch : YTL Group (since 1955)

YTL Corporation(KLSE code : 4677)

YTL : At 1.55. Will only look again if it goes below 1.50, about 1.47. Noted.

YTLLand : At support 1.55 level, low volume. Waiting for 1.48 level. I do like her the most amongst the brothers-sisters.

YTL-e : At support 0.975, touched 0.965 ... new low. It peaked at 1.70+ when the crazy "YES" intro was there. Is it still a "YES"? It is a sector not many want to be in ... but GPacket reversed from 0.62 level to current 0.84 level. RSI at 32, looking at support 0.86. Divergence- volume increases, prices dropping. No, I will not touch the YES. Interesting to note that Redtone is at the base of 0.180-0.190. Grabbing Redtone at 0.180(and hold - cut if below 0.175)

YTLPower : At 2.22, rebounded. A good stock to buy and hold.

Friday, June 24, 2011

RHB : Strong support at 8.52. Touched 8.48 during the morning sell-down. At 7.90 should be the next support level. I like the spike of volumes seen as many are selling. Wait for the selling pressure to be over, it is still a good stock to watch.

DOW is down about 180 points. Crude oil down to USD91 now. We might see some excuses for KLSE's selldown. Brace yourself.

8.35 am : Today will be my 'last' day of my holiday break. Next week I will be very busy again with new classes commencing and I will want to focus in my classes.

UOA : Grabbed at 2.27-2.30 level yesterday as I am clearing all my Equine soon.

9.05 am : KLCI in green and RHB diving as more are reading about the aborted plans by CIMB and MBB.

BIMB : Wow ... reaching RM2 soon.

LionInd : Reversing from RM2, at 1.85 level now.

9.15 am : Be greedy when others in fear? Grabbing RHB at 8.50? It is at 8.70 now.

9.50 am : MAS is going above 1.50 now. Done at 1.50-1.51 so far.

Equine : In red today, at 0.555. Watch to clear all.

1.05 pm : MAS and Masteel are doing well. Good.

The reversals of "M"s

MAS : At 1.54 now, reversing now. 1.49 and below level not done.

Masteel : An imposter of neno(using anon as nick) used the term "lausai" days ago when it went down to 1.20 level. I hv placed his un-welcome comments under 'spam'. We just need to ignore such 'human' in our lives. Luckily we only have few such 'bad apples' in Malaysia. Now, if I said I bought Masteel at 1.18-1.20, he will come out and ask for proofs but if I said I bought it at, say, 1.35-1.40, he will still come out to laugh(with bad vibes) till his shit's out. Haha.

My mind was thinking of Alex's write-up which I have not replied!! Hmm ...

MISC : This shipping giant reverses from a low of RM6.60 to current RM7.30

MPHB : At 2.96 now ... reversal seen. BJToto up, she came down. So, switch BJToto to MPHB. BJToto now down, MPHB up. Buying back BJToto at 4.20 and below. Wait.

Muhibah : Showing some signs of reversal too. At 1.40 now.

Note : Waiting for MHB, MAA, MudaJaya and Malton to reverse too.

UOA : At 2.32 now, soon ... technically, it will be a buy. I saw the buying yesterday (as I was free to monitor while reading a comic!) and grabbed her. We shall see if it could move back to at least IPO value.

4 pm : KLCI flat today.

LionInd : Down to 1.80 vs 1.81 level again.

Let us assume this trade :-

Buy every 10 cents down

1. Buy 1500 units at 1.80
2. Buy 2000 units at 1.70
3. Buy 2500 units at 1.60
4. Buy 3000 units at 1.50

Sell every 20 cents up

1. Sell 1.80 at 2.00
2. Sell 1.70 at 1.90
3. Sell 1.60 at 1.80
4. Sell 1.50 at 1.70

and so on. Now, the time frame is ... forever!!

The above strategy could be applied for a high-beta and high-trading-volume stocks. Another example could be E&O.

Stock Watch

Jaks : At low. Oversold

JCY :At low. Stalk.

WCT-wc : Reaching buying level at 0.70 soon. Watch.

YTLLand : At 1.53, still drifting lower since I cleared at 1.80+. RSI at 28 level now, with no reversal signals seen yet. Support at 1.43-1.48 levels. Obvious downtrending, reaching MA200d. Watch.

NINE Things That Will Disappear In Our Lifetime

Whether these changes are good or bad depends in part on how we adapt
to them. But, ready or not, here they come.

1. The Post Office

Get ready to imagine a world without the post office. They are so deeply in financial trouble that there is probably no way to sustain it long term. Email, Fed Ex, and UPS have just about wiped out the minimum revenue needed to keep the post office alive. Most of your mails every day is junk mail and bills.

2. The Cheque

Britain is already laying the groundwork to do away with cheque by 2018. It costs the financial system billions of dollars a year to process cheques. Plastic cards and online transactions will lead to the eventual demise of the cheque. This plays right into the death of the post office. If you never paid your bills by mail and never received them by mail, the post office would absolutely go out of business.

3. The Newspaper

The younger generation simply doesn't read the newspaper. They certainly don't subscribe to a daily delivered print edition. That may go the way of the milkman and the laundry man. As for reading the paper online, get ready to pay for it. The rise in mobile Internet devices and e-readers has caused all the newspaper and magazine publishers to form an alliance. They have met with Apple, Amazon, and the major cell phone companies to develop a model for paid subscription services.

4. The Book

You say you will never give up the physical book that you hold in your hand and turn the literal pages. I said the same thing about downloading music from iTunes. I wanted my hard copy CD. But I quickly changed my mind when I discovered that I could get albums for half the
price without ever leaving home to get the latest music. The same thing will happen with books. You can browse a bookstore online and even read a preview chapter before you buy. And the price is less than half that of a real book. And think of the convenience! Once you start flicking your fingers on the screen instead of the book, you find that you are lost in the story, can't wait to see what happens next, and you forget that you're holding a gadget instead of a book.

5. The Land Line Telephone

Unless you have a large family and make a lot of local calls, you don't need it anymore. Most people keep it simply because they've always had it. But you are paying double charges for that extra service. All the cell phone companies will let you call customers using the same cell provider for no charge against your minutes

6. Music

This is one of the saddest parts of the change story. The music industry is dying a slow death. Not just because of illegal downloading. It's the lack of innovative new music being given a chance to get to the people who would like to hear it. Greed and corruption is the problem. The record labels and the radio conglomerates are simply self-destructing. Over 40% of the music purchased today is "catalogue items," meaning traditional music that the public is familiar with. Older established artists. This is also true on the live concert circuit. 7. Television

Revenues to the networks are down dramatically. Not just because of the economy. People are watching TV and movies streamed from their computers. And they're playing games and doing lots of other things that take up the time that used to be spent watching TV. Prime time shows have degenerated down to lower than the lowest common denominator. Cable rates are skyrocketing and commercials run about every 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I say good riddance to most of it. It's time for the cable companies to be put out of our misery. Let the people choose what they want to watch online and through Netflix.

8. The "Things" That You Own

Many of the very possessions that we used to own are still in our lives, but we may not actually own them in the future. They may simply reside in "the cloud." Today your computer has a hard drive and you store your pictures, music, movies, and documents. Your software is on a CD or DVD, and you can always re-install it if need be. But all of that is changing. Apple, Microsoft, and Google are all finishing up their latest "cloud services." That means that when you turn on a computer, the Internet will be built into the operating system. So, Windows, Google, and the Mac OS will be tied straight into the Internet. If you click an icon, it will open something in the Internet cloud. If you save something, it will be saved to the cloud. And you may pay a monthly subscription fee to the cloud provider. In this virtual world, you can access your music or your books, or your whatever from any laptop or handheld device. That's the good news. But, will you actually own any of this "stuff" or will it all be able to disappear at any moment in a big "Poof?" Will most of the things in our lives be disposable and whimsical? It makes you want to run to the
closet and pull out that photo album, grab a book from the shelf, or open up a CD case and pull out the insert.

9. Privacy

If there ever was a concept that we can look back on nostalgically, it would be privacy. That's gone. It's been gone for a long time anyway. There are cameras on the street, in most of the buildings, and even built into your computer and cell phone. But you can be sure that 24/7, "They" know who you are and where you are, right down to the GPS coordinates, and theGoogle Street View. If you buy something, your habit is put into a zillion profiles, and your ads will change to reflect those habits. "They" will try to get you to buy something else. Again and again.

All we will have left that can't be changed are "Memories". And then probably Alzheimers will take that away from you too !

Note : These might be true, in 10-20years time.

Counter Trend

Looking for technical rebound, one could opt for 'counter trend' trading strategy. When a stock dives(due to some bad news), an oversold stock might attract bargain buyers and it will rebound in very short period of time. After a few days of rebounding, technically it might show buying 'signals'. And if more buyers(short term punters or traders) seen, the stock price will continue to rebound. Whether the rebound is sustainable, it depends on how the 'news' turn out to be. We could not ignore the market sentiments as if the bad news and sentiments still 'hanging out there', the rebound is not sustainable. It could be a knife that we do not want to catch. So, a strict stop-loss level should be placed and follow.

These are some of the 'difficulties' trading a diving stock. The 'signals' could be false and we will see it going lower. Besides, it is meant for short-term(fast) trade and one need to have the time(experiences and guts) to monitor them.

Examples : Muhibah and KEuro.

LionInd : Breaching RM2 now. Wow. It is playing with news now and syndicates/sharks using it for short-term bait, luring many ikan-bilis traders to punt. Beware.

Now, Lion is leading the 'steel' to rally - Kinstel and Huaan are active now too.

2.30 pm : KLCI down 3 points, partly caused by RHB's bad news.

Equine : As I grabbed at 0.50, it is at 0.555 today, I will sell half at 0.57 resistance level as planned. I grabbed her last month, I think.

XOX : Wow ... rebound strongly today. To me, anything shoot up in short while = sell. Dont worry much, as when it is diving lower in days, one may want to buy it back. I do not have XOX. It really sounds like SOS leh.

SPSetia-wb : Low volume, dropping to 1.11 level now. Stalk.

2.50 pm : Strong buying seen in Equine, done at 0.570. At 0.575 now. Let us check its next resistance to sell all ... errmmm ... 0.615 level. Ok. queue 0.610 to sell all.

EAH : At 0.365, new low ... queue 0.35 to buy more.

EPMB : Diving to 0.91 level now. These are few of my "E"-stocks I am stalking.

Aeon : 2,000,000 unit of shares done at RM7.52. Yes, 2millions. So, the value is above RM15million. Every one cent up/down, it will be RM20k!! Wow!!

Genting : At 11.30 level now. Last week, YH sms-ed to let me know she bought Genting at 10.82 level. Yes, she is doing well as she follow some plans with lots of patience. At 11.40 is resistance but I m not going to sms her to ask her to sell. I will want to let my 'turtles' to be independent and they could do much better than me!!

UOA : Some buyers seen today. Grabbed at 2.30 market price now. Noted.

4.10 pm : KLCI down 3 points plus.

RHB : Diving now to RM9 level. Watching RHB at 8.70 and 7.80.

UOA : UOA done at 2.27 - 2.29 too.

XOX : Up 20% today ... wow.

Slowly, I will be deleting most of the songs posted here and transfer it to my songs blog. Yes, I will want this blog to be my trading adventure - what I analysed, what I read, financial markets related news ... and such.

My songs :

Will also create another personal blog to write about my random thoughts. It will be about my teaching job, my works, bowling, Liverpool, politics and such.

By doing such, this blog will be more focus only on stock markets mainly KLSE.

But, there will certainly be lesser posts here. Those who are interested to know my pathetic(LOL) day-to-day living ... you will find me if you wanted too. haha.

Stock Watch

Muhibah : Closed lower at 1.35 now. Technically, very bearish and might go lower. RSI at 32 level ... so, way down to go. Any slightest positive news will see it jumps.

KEuro : Closed at 1.03, still breathing above RM1. It touched 0.95 tho I drew the point of entry at 0.94. Observed the HIGH volumes today. Extreme oversold(RSI 15) with MACD below zero level. Bearish and very risky trade at the moment. So, wait for reversal signals but with tight stop-loss placed.

DOW up 100 points. KLCI will be in green this morning.

Scable : Finally, it si up. I bought at 1.30 level and sold her at 1.30 level too before Sarawak election. It is above 1.40 now.

KBB : Actively traded for the past one week and shooting further higher!!

LBS : Still very strong uptrend.

UOA : At 2.32 level now.

Timecom : It is about time to monitor timecom(and time). At support 0.71 level now.

12.20 pm : Going for lunch soon ... KLCI up 1.8points.

MPHB : Going above 2.90. Rebounding?

Masteel : Back to go below 1.20. At 1.19.

KEuro : Going below RM1. At 0.97 level, touched 0.95 today. Oversold ... before buying, do check WHY it is diving.

Learning Corner : How to check?

1. Begin with

For example of extracts : For the current quarter, the Group’s revenue reduced by 16.50% to RM6.25 million compared to RM7.49 million achieved in the preceding quarter. The lower revenue achieved in the current quarter was mainly attributable to lower billings by the construction division. For the same period, the Group achieved a pre-tax profit of RM1.51 million, compared to a pre-tax loss of RM24.10 million in the preceding quarter. The preceding quarter was affected by provisions for doubtful debts of RM12.15 million and share of losses of RM14.59 million incurred mainly by Talam.

Note : The recent announcement was at 17th June. Do learn to read the quarter reports(fundamental analysis).

2. Then, go to the company's website, if any. A good company should maintain an updated site.

For example : Not much details seen in the site. It just tell us about the company!!

3. Check other sites for more info of the company such as : from google finance or reuters

It shown beta = 1.50(someone asked me how I get some beta values). EPS, ROI and ROE all in negative region. So, this is NOT a fundamentally strong counter. 52 week price : 0.78 - 1.71.

Check some good sites such as :

4. Also, check the brokers' reports relating to the company. Create a folder to download and save those reports for references. One may want to open a few trading a/c with some local brokers or IBs.

The above are just few guidelines to those novices/newbies to stock market. These are what I am doing or WAS doing, I mean.

Muhibah : At 1.40 now. I read that some big-shot inside Muhibah sold some of his stakes at 1.82 before it dived!! Hey, why such a sale is NOT reported? If seen selling at 1.82, surely many will be cautious and will not be trap at 1.82 and above, right? Can SC check on these 'news'?

UOA : Going below 2.30 now. Another over-priced IPO or what?

KBB : An UMA issued. Why? I mean, there are so many UMA in many counters. Why only KBB today? Do not chase ... when it starts to tank, it will be pressed very much lower and create some panic selling. Also, contra-punters need to sell their stakes at whatever price!!

LionInd : Flying up 10% after lunch!! At 1.80 now.

Note : According to my theory of buying LionInd, one could have bought at 1.60 and 1.50. So, sell 1.50 level at 1.70 and 1.60 portion at 1.80 done today!! LionInd is a high beta stock(about 3), so it is good for trading.

HuaYang : Up 8 cents now. If it is due to buying of the auction land news(RM13m), then it is not really new. I read about that 2/3 days ago. Normally, it will take a day or two before general public to read such news. Just check the updates at Bursa site. This is only for short rebound punt. For valuation and such, we need to do much more FA(fundamental analysis).

UOA : Hmm ... at 2.26 now. What should be my entry point? It is at new low each day.

Muhibbah Engineering

Muhibbah’s share price had a rollercoaster ride last week after news of receivership for the Asia Petroleum Hub (APH) project, for which it is a major contractor and is owed RM371m. We think it may not be all that bad for Muhibbah as it all hinges on the lifting of the receivership status, which depends on whether APH can line up RM2.4bn new funds. According to Muhibbah, APH maintains that its talks with the new investor are at an advanced stage and there are grounds for lifting of its receivership status.

We maintain our TRADING BUY call, EPS forecasts and RM2.75 target price, which we continue to peg to a 10% discount to RNAV. The stock has been bashed down and could be re-rated in the event of positive news on APH or project flows for both the construction and oil & gas segments.

Muhibah : At 1.37 now, and with TP at 2.75 ... isnt that double the current value? Cheap?

Lion's group : Lions are roaring today ... LionInd at 1.84. Incredible that I missed her!

Tallest Buildings in the world

Petronas Twin Towers is placed no 5. Perhaps it is time our gov to think of Menara Wawasan which should be more than 2000 ft.

Stock Watch

KNM : At 1.90 level, someone asked if KNM is 'cheap'. As always, I do not think so I could answer such questions. First of all, I do not understand what he/she meant by ' cheap'. Is it the price of the stock or the valuation? I do not track KNM till it broken its RM2 support. It is at 1.83 level now, down again yesterday. RSI at 24 now. So, the next level we might want to watch is 1.75 level and 1.60 level. Watch and not buying till reversal signs shown. We are not talking about fundamentals for her, ok?

It is a speculative counter ... and dont worry, someone will COOK a news or story again to push it up, again. Are you ready for a ride? Dividing its price with 4, it is below 50cents now. At 1.60 = 40cents, I think one risk taker could BET that someone might want to take it 'private' again? Do check the 'history' and the stories related to KNM. Many still holding to her when she was at RM1(then)= RM4(now). I wont touch her but watching 1.60 level and will jot it down here - for educational purposes, ok? Good luck!

Masteel : At 1.25, this one is more worth grabbing(than KNM) and technically it is positive now. Rebound shown and checking to sell half at 1.30 level.

Jaks : At new low, going below 60cents!!

3 pm : Very hot and humid out there.

Muhibah : Touched 1.35, at 1.40 level now.

MAA : Gorenged up ... and now the news not as good, so it dives. At 0.75 level now.

MAS : At 1.42 level ... taken out and I saw MHB is in now.

MPHB : Another good stock to watch ... not just another "M". Queue at 2.75, RSI below 30 now.

Do fathers spend quality time with their children?

Monday Starters - By Soo Ewe Jin

YESTERDAY was Father's Day. Those seduced by the advertising promotions in the past two weeks would probably have coughed up a tidy sum for a nice present for dad.

We fathers love surprises, so what could it be this year for the man of the house? A tie, a power drill, any gadget that starts with the letter “i”, a massage chair we are spoilt for choice.

It would probably also have meant a nice dinner out with the family, never mind that father probably gets to pay the bill.

Scenarios like this can be played out, however, only when your children are young and still well within your control. When they are in their teens or after they have left the nest, it may take a lot of convincing to get them to come along.

I was having tea with a dear friend the other day and we agreed that the concept of “quality time” is something cooked up by people who simply do not have time for the things that matter in life.

Busy fathers, and mothers as well, often justify their lack of time with their children by pointing to those special “quality time moments” that have been carefully marked into their diaries.

TEH : I am guilty of that. So, now ... except for my classes, I will not mark the time with my kids in my diary!!

There is the assumption that what is marked will be fulfilled but in reality, such moments are often the first casualties when something else comes along.

There was a time when off-work hours were considered sacrosanct and strictly reserved for family, but in our very highly-connected world, I doubt if anyone would be so brave as to ignore a call from a superior in the office.

A just published survey by the Pew Research Centre entitled, A Tale of Two Fathers: More Are Active, but More Are Absent, revealed that “the role of fathers in the modern American family is changing in important and countervailing ways.”

The good news is that almost all fathers who live with their children take an active role in their day-to-day lives through activities such as sharing meals, helping with homework, and playing.

TEH : Yes, I do want to play active role in their day-to-day lives.

Fathers who live apart from their children are much less likely to be involved in these types of activities. According to Pew, the number of absentee fathers is on the rise. Roughly one out of every four fathers lives separately from a child, meaning 20.3 million children in the United States do not have a dad in their house.

Here in Malaysia, we can probably say our statistics are not so alarming, but what if we redefine the concept of absentee fathers?

What if these fathers are not just those who stay in separate homes because of divorce or other family issues?

What if these fathers include those so busy making money that they cannot appreciate that the real balance sheet of life goes way beyond profit and loss?

TEH : Well written.

What if these fathers are the ones who leave home before their children wake up and come home after they are asleep?

TEH : I do know some fathers who never have the chance to meet their children much. They are busy with meetings and travelling. One of the reason I want to main a 'teacher', more "off" time to be with my kids.

And how many of us dads, even when we are present for our children, really listen to them?

TEH : Guilty as charged here. But, I have improved much since abandoning many of things to do and slowing down to have more time to listen to my children. I am feeling more involved in their lives now.

Statistics may tell us those moments are becoming a rare thing, but I would like to suggest that it is within the hands of fathers to invest in our most precious assets our children. Then Father's Day will truly be a meaningful day.

Deputy executive editor Soo Ewe Jin believes every dad should listen to “Cat in the Cradle”, made famous in 1974 by Harry Chapin. The song is told in first-person by a father who is too busy to spend time with his son, who eventually grew up just like him a busy man who also does not have time for his father

Recently, I have been trying to change my mundane 'lifestyle' and promised myself to spend more time with my kids and wife. Also, putting time for my mom, aunties, bro&sis. Family taking a different turn this year after the passing of my dad in Jan. My dad has never been there in my whole life!! I was, in fact, orphaned before being picked up by my grandma and aunties(my dad's side).

Growing up without a dad since very young(4 yrs old ... we shifted to KL from Penang), I do not know what it meant having a dad. Being a dad now, I started to realise what I have been missing. I m their play-mate ... a person who pull them up when they are down and to protect them. Yeah, I promised to be a good dad.

Life has not been easy for the past few months ... reflected from my writings ... if I do write. I could not even organise my thoughts. I have stopped reading tonnes of biz-related news, putting my kids' book-sharing upmost importance. I realised that I have 'neglected' their adventures, concentrating on my own trading adventures.

If all the money I earned could only buy all their toys or books, CDs or 'fun' things they wanted .. yet, they find emptiness insdie them, one day ... I might regret not being there for them. So, I do know I need to balance and place my priorities right again, before things 'get out of hands', literally.

I do hope I could not only spend quality time, but guiding my kids well. I could only improve myself, kick my 'bad' habits and be a good example to them.

Yes, I will invest more time ... with my kids.

Linkin Park - Iridescent

You were standing in the wake of devastation
And you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
And with the cataclysm raining down
Insides crying "Save me now"
You were there, impossibly alone

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

And in a burst of light that blinded every angel
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
No one there to catch you in their arms

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

Let it go
Let it go
Let it go
Let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

These are some resources novices or newbies can read to gain some knowledge about stocks, companies and businesses in Malaysia. Take some time to explore the sites and learn some terms being used there. One may search for the terms using internet if you are not sure the meaning. For example, what are EBITDA, MACD etc etc. It helps to increase our knowledge.

So, we have books and internet resources to improve our knowledge in investment or trading. One may also attend trainings and/or talks to further enhance the theories read.

I will write about some books I do think will help the novices/newbies and some trainings one could attend. I need to say again that I am independent and DO NOT gain anything for sharing what written here. So, I am in anyone's side.

Happy Father's Day

"You Raise Me Up"

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

I do not agree with street protest tho we all know that we do not have 'freedom' to express ourselves.

So, I do not support these 'Bersih'. I do hope for a clean election campaign but we are not naive. We are no longer stupid to believe it will be a clean election, now or ever. The main media are tools being used by local gov to 'brain wash' public.

I keep myself neutral ... feeling defeated, tho. This is Boleh-land where many things TAK BOLEH ...

By the way, I do like Stephen Chow's shows!! Haha. And since I do like nasi-lemak too, do watch those creative nasilemak2020 clips, for fun.

Good morning!! DOW up 40+ points, crude oil at USD93 level now. USD strengthening.

Learning Corner : Charts

There are few 'free' charting site which novices could use. I do like shareinvestor site a lot. Lots of information etc etc. Do spend at least half an hour per day familiarising yourself with the site and infomation one could obtain from this nice site.

RSI : One of the technical indicator that I like to use to show oversold-overbought. Generally, RSI-14days is being used. If RSI below 30, it is said to be oversold while if it is above 70 is it said to be overbought. I am NOT saying that RSI below 30 is a buy, tho I could say that if our GOOD(fundamentally) stocks showing RSI below 30, we could be thinking of BUYING.

What I taught my friends are these : When RSI going below 30, THINK of buying. Before that, look at the reasons(or excuses) why it is going down. IF it drifting down in slow manner, it is not a buy yet. If it dives sharply due to temporary bad news, then it will be a strong buy if RSI going into historical low. A quick rebound could be rewarding.

When to buy : Once we knew the reasons/excuses why it is down(with RSI in low level, showing oversold situation), and decide that it will be a good buy ... we will look at its support levels and plan for our buyings. Divide your buyings into a few levels.

Supports : As a novice, one may use a simple horizontal support. Look at the previous HIGH level, draw a horizontal line ... and when the stock retracing, that could be its new support level.

1. Get good fundamental stocks to stalk.
2. Wait for it to retrace, do not chase.
3. READ about news related to it on WHY it is retracing(or down)
4. Check its RSI ... is it at historical low or lower than its average? Is it below 30?
5. Check its support level and queue at(or slightly below) that level.
6. Buy in stages ... grab at second support level, if it goes against you. Now, if one are into short-term trading, cut-loss stop level should be placed, instead. As novices, one is not advised to trade short-term.

Note : This is over-simplified way of RSI being used. Generally, stocks over-shoot its level(optimism or pessimism). So, it will be overbought or oversold in short term. Sell when optimism is at the high(RSI should be showing above 70 as many later-comers will chase)

So do use charts, not merely fundamentals. Fundamentals of a stock might change. Besides, charts dont lie.

LO : The above is written for you. Equine was at 0.48-0.50 level, consolidating below moving above 0.50 level. 0.50 was its support level. Well, thanks for the dinner.

Blogs for readings

For novices, some of the blogs above might take a while to understand(dont worry, I was as 'lost' when I started 2/3 years ago! Just continue to learn). The terms used could be challenging. That is also why I started this blog - to explain some terms in street-man(lay man? haha) language where you-understand-i-understand la. So, I should continue to educate those NOVICES or NEWBIES.

Unfortunately, majority of novices/newbies do NOT see learning is necessary for trading financial markets!! You may be surprised that majority of them just interested to know what stock to buy!! Punters and short-term traders are infesting current market.

So, my advice is still the same ... continue to learn. This is not a stock-picking blog, but to share what I am observing to learn. LEARN .... it might take years. To me, it shall take years for anyone with ZERO knowledge. I might take another 3-5 years of learning before I could understand how markets work!! And I am not being humble - just stating the facts that I am too inexperience and too raw. Haha.

Later I hope I could find some time to do some readings.

Till then, have a nice weekend.

1.30 pm : KLCI up, Muhibah doing well today. Nice. :)

Equine : At 0.55 now. No intention to sell yet, targeting 0.57. I told a friend of mine(LO) two days ago that I do have UEMLand(at 2.75) and Equine(at 0.50) as property-stocks. I am aiming for YTLLand(at 1.47-1.54).

EAH : At 0.41, nice too.

BJToto : At 4.51, should I sell or still wait for 4.60 target? Thinking of MPHB, instead.

BStead : I am interested at RM6 level ... we shall see ...

Neno : Why are you so happy that Muhibah up today, thinking I hv sold mine(I typed only ma, u believe?) at 1.56-157? I still got small profit leh. How sure are you I bought Muhibah yesterday, so risky-leh. U think I am so smart or daring meh? Hmm ... sorry to disappoint you again. I am 'busy' frequenting Uni-hospital these day, for you info.

Have a nice weekend.

Thursday, June 16, 2011

WCT-wc : At 0.785 resistance. Time to sell if collected at 0.70 level.

DOW down 170 points. UP and DOWN.

Back to basics

This is in my mind ... throw away everything, re-construct the thoughts and getting back to basics. Un-learn and re-learn.

FA : Spending more time to look into bigger pictures. Getting away from markets for another few months, while reading more of reports of good fundamental counters.

TA : Spending more time to investigate what works, what's not. Re-learn and reflect on many of my analysis.

11.40 am : KLCI down only 2 points. Just back from 'marketing' at Jaya33. It is 'nice' not to rush to office, having classes like non-stop, monitoring markets etc etc. It is a life of a retiree or those financially free. I do still enjoy teaching, so I think I will still teach beyond 55(If I am still alive! Haha). As for markets, once I am in retiring age, perhaps I will be wiser by then, with knowledge and experience in hands. At the moment, I just need to learn and gather more experiences, learning from many around.

Muhibah : Diving today ... someone pushed it up to 1.90 yesterday, and today it is sell-sell-sell.

MPHB : At 2.90 now, RSI 35. As BJToto still moving higher, hope to sell at 4.60 and grab MPHB instead. BJToto being upgraded recently by one of local broker house to above RM5. I read somewhere that BJToto coming up with new 'games'. Is that a reason(or excuse) that MPHB going down?

11.55 am : Muhibah going below 1.60!! Alert. Be greedy??!

Muhibah : 1.60 done. Touched 1.56, actually. Queue 1.55 and 1.50!!

2.25 pm : HSI down 400+ points. KLCI only down 3.5 points.

Muhibah : Down 20%, at 1.50 level now. Touched 1.48. Done at 1.60, 1.55 and 1.50. My last queue at 1.45 not done. What a knife!!

Muhibbah Engineering came under selling pressure on the negative surprise about the impact from news report about Asia Petroleum Hub (APH) -- which it undertook, a project for -- faced receivership.

Asia Petroleum Hub (APH), the developer and operator of the APH oil terminal in Johor, faced receivership. As one of the contractors for APH, Muhibbah was awarded the marine piling and jetty works worth RM820 million. The receivership status for the APH project was a negative surprise. However, it should not be a major concern at this juncture as APH is likely to negotiate for more time to resolve the matter and rope in a new investor. The worst-case scenario for Muhibbah is a write-down of the RM300 million due from APH, which would push Muhibbah into losses for FY11. However, there is no impact on RNAV as the amount is reflected as liabilities.

Alam : I am reminded of the "ALAM" trade last year when the bad news about Vastalux was out. Alam dived below 90cents and I dared myself to grab at RM0.90. Today, Alam at RM1.10 level. I have sold off Alam, then.

It will be interesting to see what will happen to Muhibah. Taking bad-news as a good news to buy? We shall see ...

CTK : Thanks for the concern. I am just checking what will happen if I am to buy into her at average 1.53 at the moment.

Also, by Alex Lu

Looking at Muhibah's detailed Financial Statements for QE31/3/2011, I must admit that there is two glaring items that I have overlooked- the Receivables of RM903.6 million & the Amount Owing by Contract Customers of RM386.6 million. If the latter is offset against the Amount Due to Contract Customers of RM256.6 million, then the total sum owing by Debtors and Contract Customers would be RM1.034 billion. Compared that with the turnover for QE31/3/2011 of RM394.3 million, Muhibah's Debtors' Collection Period is about 239 days. That's a serious problem.

If 20% of the above amount were to turn bad, the loss would be RM207 million. That would reduce Muhibah's Shareholders' Funds to RM372 million and push up its Debts to Equity ratio to 1.2 times. Based on the research note from Kenanga, it seems that the amount to be written off from one customer, APH is about RM370 million. As a result, Muhibah's Shareholders' Funds would be reduced to RM209 million and its Debts to Equity ratio pushed up to 2.1 times

Muhibah : Exited at 1.56-1.57 as the risk is too high. Arrghh ...

Need to off for my bowling game, otherwise I will wait for market closing. It is still at 1.56 at the moment. Keeping my queue to grab at 1.45. Tmr it might go lower with more bad news surfacing.

DRB-ce : At 0.145 now, checking at 0.130.

Chart to watch tonight : BStead,Coastal, DRB, Genting, MPHB, UEM, YTLLand.

Please e-mail or let me know if any chart that I should take a look. Thanks.
